Excellent food and service! My wife and I were seated immediately and our order was taken very quickly. We ordered the papaya salad as a starter and it was delicious. I had the panang curry chicken and it reminded me of when I lived in Thailand. It was great. My wife had the basil chicken and she loved it. Overall a great experience and we will be going back.

Here is my 2 cents on the food. The thai ice tea was great sweet & tasty. I had beef Drunken Noodle and spring rolls. Fist the spring rolls. They should have been brought first,. instead of arriving at the same time of the entree. Plus at 5 bucks they should be bigger and more items inside. And there was only 2. They were hot and crispy but just cabbage inside. Tasted good though. The soup serve was very good but it should have been more hot. Temperature wise that is. They had a 0-5 rating of heat I ask for the 5 plus. IT WAS NOT. It barely got my attention. WHERE was the BEEF. Hardly any. 6-7 pieces. PLUS they were VERY tough. I was not impress. It tasted fine but all the issues I mention really brought it down. Now Chit Chat. It is in a good area near a medical facility prices seem fair BUT there are 2-3 other better Thai places. If they bring up their game they could be a 5 star foodie location. As of now nope.

Horrible food. I have had Thai all over the country in way better cities than Ft Myers and this is NOT up to par at all! Panang should not taste identical to peanut dressing most Thai places put on salads. I love Panang everywhere I have ever had it except here. Ewww. When they replaced the Panang reluctantly, they did so with super soupy red curry. Save your time and money. Go elsewhere! No ambiance whatsoever either. The Larb I ordered to go smells disgusting, like rotten fish. NOT eating that! (Again, I have always loved larb and Nom Sod.) My stomach is quite gurgley after eating there and that is NEVER a good sign!

Had a nice meal at Thai Star The ambience is ok not fancy. I judge the food by comparing the Pad Thai with Cape Cod and it was good but no comparison. They are busy and that's a good thing. We WILL return.

I'm pretty impressed with this place. Other reviews accurately describe the ambiance. All the food is fresh and authentic. So much so that it is unlike other Thai restaurants I've visited. For example, I was taken aback by the food colors. First my pad see yew sauce had a green look (like a light chili verde). I asked about it later and was told that they grind up basil leaves and add it to the sauce. It was delicious. If you read another of my Thai reviews you'll see how I raved about their mango sticky rice. When Thai Star mentioned this as one of their desserts I jumped on it. I was stunned when it came out. It was black. It turns out that they use thai jasmine black rice, which is more expensive. It was like the difference between white and brown rice. Crunchy and nitty flavored. Google it, then order it for dessert if you come. Oh, and btw, their heat scale is accurate. I ordered no. 4 since it was my first visit. Spot on! It'd be too hot for most people, I believe. I like it hot, for comparisons sake. If you need more heat they provide a four-item carrousel of different add ons you can use.

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be back. The food wasn't horrible, it just wasn't good. Very bland. I've had some pretty excellent Thai food before and I hold the bar pretty high. I ordered Satay & fried rice. Pretty basic menu items. They both fell pretty short of what I expected. I think it will be some time, before I go back.

Very nice service for our first visit tonight! Quick greeting, service, and good Panang Curry. I requested 3 of 5 on the spicy meter and it was hot enough. The Pad Thai is better not spicy! I liked this place and the sweet hostess; I'll be back.

Food is fair I've had better but the service is terrible. The first time I went they brought me the wrong soup and got mad because I ate it. Second time the food was better but again the service was TERRIBLE. They brought appetizer, soup and entree all at the same time and got mad when I asked them to take the entree back and keep it warm. Getting a refill on drinks takes an act of congress.

Disappointing. The massaman curry was runny and bland in flavor, and they added red and green peppers (which I've never seen a Thai restaurant do) to compensate for that. The Pho was rather meager in its meat portions. Nice interior, but the food isn't very fulfilling.

All lunch orders are roughly $7.95. They don't come with anything though like an egg roll or soup/salad. I did get complimentary coconut noodle soup, but not sure if this was a lunch thing or for everyone. It didn't mention it in the menu. I ordered pad see ew, and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. I wouldn't order it again but I would revisit this restaurant and try something else. The thai coffee was deliciously amazing. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Bathroom and restaurant were clean.

Mediocre at best. Definitely not the worst Thai food I have ever had, but certainly not the best either. I was in the area for work so I got a take-out order of Chicken Pad Thai and the Mango Sticky Rice. Generous portion of pad thai but it was pretty blah and completely stuck together into a large block (I had to cut it with a knife and fork!). Just chicken and noodles and pretty tasteless sauce - what sauce there was had already separated into a kind of oily mess at the bottom of the stuck together noodles. The mango sticky rice dessert was pretty tasty, but the rice was so sticky I had to cut it with a fork and knife as well. I've never had it before so maybe this is the way it is supposed to be? Overall the meal was passable and I was hungry so I ate it but i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Part of me wished I had just gotten predictable mediocre pizza from the Dominos in the same shopping center instead.

Everything was awesome. Noodle soup was very good, sweet with a hint of coconut. Red curry with pork 3 out of 5 spicy, had just a hint of spice. Get the chicken. Overall very good. Pumpkin curry, garlic sauté dish and chicken pad Thai all very good.

The food was good but just not great unfortunately. My husband had the basil fried rice and it was greasy. I had the Panang curry which was peanut sauce. Never tasted any curry and I love curry. Veggie spring rolls were good but very small for $4.95. Don't think we'll be back.

My orders, 2 pad Thai and 2 spring rolls. As a restaurant manager, cook of 9 years and seeing 4 star reviews I expected way better. The noodles were dry, sticky, flavorless, baby food soft and chopped up. The spring rolls were fried in dirty oil and the portions were small. The worst part is when I was handed the check the gentlemen working immediately walked away, stood across the room arms crossed glaring at me very scrutinizingly and didn't say anything to me as I left. I'm disappointed and I will not eat here again.

This is my first visit and I ordered Red Curry w/Chicken (TO GO). Great price for the amount I got, enough for 2 lunches. The Red Curry was not as intense flavored as I am use to eating at other Thai restaurants. It was however, very tasty and fresh. I was really hoping to eat my lunch w/Jasmine Rice but it came w/some generic boring white rice. Yes, there is a difference and it taste and smells better. All in all, it was pretty good.

I've been here several times for lunch for take out. Pretty consistent quality of food and service. They have fountain drinks now. There are a few errors on there online menu. Like the choices of protein it's one or the other and not all of the above. Dining in for dinner is definitely on my to do list.

Great soup, solid food. I hope they can make it tucked away in that plaza. Decor is basic bit the ambiance is nice. Wait staff was very helpful and nice to deal with.

This place is ok. Staff needs hospitality lessons. No acknowledgement when we entered, took long to sit us, no water and utensils. Food was ok. Small portions for expensive price. And get this, you have to keep asking for rice, they don't just leave it at your table.

I have not had frog legs other than a couple times in France. The Basil Frog legs at Thai Star was terrific. Beautifully presented, tender with delicious fresh basil sauce and crisp veggies. I highly recommend and will be hopping back for more real soon.

This is a cute little restaurant. Nothing super fancy but has great food. Love the pad thai and basil fried rice with veggies. The portions are a bit small compared to other thai places.

A new favorite of ours! The food is always delicious and hot when it's delivered or eaten in the restaurant. A must try!

Delish!! The coconut noodle soup was amazing and the basil frog legs were out of this world. The ambiance is lacking but the food makes up for what it lacks in charm!

There is nothing more disappointing than a bad cheat meal. I've been looking forward to some comfort food of rice and curry. The reviews of this place have been outstanding including The News Press. I was looking forward to trying the famous coconut noodle soup. I'm not sure whether it's because it's Sunday dinner and the place was not busy but the food was not flavorful at all. We tried the coconut noodle soup and was quite disappointed. There was barely any flavor. The chicken fresh roll only tasted of rice noodles and bean sprouts. I think they waved it over some chicken because I didn't even see any chicken pieces. I tried the house curry and even though I'm a fan of peanut sauce, this "curry" was just all peanut sauce. My boyfriend ordered Thai hot green curry and it was not hot at all. If I can eat it in spoonfuls then it's not Thai hot. I'm not sure if they've changed the recipe to suit the American taste buds but the food was quite unexciting. It really bothers me to write a bad review but I'm definitely not coming back.
